I use movement as a medium to explore my perception of the world and the beauty that I perceive. Movement allows me to delve into the emotions that cannot be summed up with words. I can chew on the hypocrisy of human existence; the urge to create lasting, permanent things that will stay frozen in their beauty, even though the only constant is change and death. Even in the constant exploration of an idea or phrase, it mutates and evolves in the process and is only alive in the body in the moments it's performed.

 

I enjoy dance because it's such a pure form for us to connect with one another. I love layering a work, playing with, and exploring a phrase that I create alone or in collaboration with other dancers. By manipulating space, timing, connection, improvisation, and other concepts of creation, I experience tangible joy.
